Key facts for Poland
Christmas is the main business gifting occasion, and Saint Nicholas Day (Mikołajki) is also popular in offices.
How companies in Poland give year-end gifts
In Poland, employers often give staff Christmas packages (paczki świąteczne) or vouchers, frequently financed from the company social benefits fund (ZFŚS), and many also prepare Mikołajki gifts on 6 December, especially for employees' children. Client gifts are sent in the first half of December, before Wigilia on 24 December, which has been a public holiday since 2025. Gifts with a company logo are common and can matter for tax treatment, since branded promotional gifts to clients can benefit from a personal income tax exemption up to a set value. Popular choices include chocolate, tea, coffee, gift boxes and advent calendars. Cards are written in Polish with formal address (Państwo); a printed card with a handwritten signature is standard.
