Key facts for Russia
New Year, not Christmas, is the main corporate gifting occasion.
How companies in Russia give year-end gifts
In Russia, New Year is by far the most important corporate gifting occasion, with gifts handed out at year-end parties and sent to clients in late December, before the long New Year break. Orthodox Christmas on 7 January is a religious holiday within that break. Workplace gifts are also customary on 23 February and 8 March. However, EU sanctions prohibit exports of many goods to Russia, including luxury goods above set value thresholds, and major international couriers have suspended service, so sending corporate gifts from Poland is not currently practical.
