How companies in Georgia give year-end gifts
In Georgia, New Year is the main occasion for corporate gifts and celebrations, with family feasts and the churchkhela and gozinaki sweets traditional at this time. Orthodox Christmas on 7 January is a public holiday and an important religious day. Companies give gift sets and branded items to staff and partners before New Year. Georgia has a strong wine culture, and wine and other alcohol are generally acceptable as gifts. Georgian is the business language, with English and Russian also used. Gifts are often delivered personally or to the office in the second half of December, and a card with New Year wishes is standard. Chocolates, sweets, wine and branded items are popular corporate gifts. Many offices slow down between 31 December and 7 January, so arrange delivery before the end of December.
