Key facts for Lebanon
Christmas is widely celebrated and is a real year-end business occasion.
How companies in Lebanon give year-end gifts
Lebanon has large Christian and Muslim communities, and both Christmas and Eid are public holidays. Christmas and New Year are a real business gifting season, with chocolates, sweets and hampers sent to clients and partners in December, and Christmas decorations widespread in Beirut. Eid is the main occasion for Muslim partners. Arabic, French and English are all used in business, and French or English cards are common. Alcohol is legal and widely consumed, but check the recipient's preferences. Use 'Season's Greetings' for mixed audiences. Gifts are usually delivered in person or to the office, often with a handwritten note. Chocolate has a strong local tradition, so quality and presentation matter. Courier delivery is reliable in Beirut, but customs clearance can take time, so allow extra days in December.
